A short drive from the centre of Al Khobar, in the Al Aziziyah district, Taybeen Museum is one of Saudi Arabia’s most unexpected cultural gems. At first glance, the venue looks more like a private villa than a museum, but step inside and you’ll find a colourful, character-filled space dedicated to memories, childhood, and popular culture. The museum, founded by Majid Al-Ghamdi in 2004, has grown into an immersive indoor and outdoor attraction brimming with nostalgic displays, birds, cameras, games and old-school collectibles.
For Elite Umrah travellers to the Eastern Province, Taybeen Museum might be a refreshing change to the usual museum experience. The visit begins with a warm welcome from the museum’s aviary with colourful birds adding sound and movement to the space. Visitors can then wander through rooms packed with vintage treasures, from retro food packaging and soft drink cans to old cameras, televisions, radios, toys, comics, and beloved childhood characters.
The collection includes more than 10,000 original pieces, many of them linked to everyday life from the 1970s through the 1990s. Rather than focusing only on ancient history, Taybeen Museum celebrates the recent past — the objects, advertisements, games, and household items that many visitors remember from childhood. And it is this shared nostalgia that makes the museum so charming, as visitors of all ages can smile, remember and bond over familiar memories.
Taybeen Museum is a special treat for families, photography lovers and anyone interested in Saudi Arabia’s social and cultural history. A visit usually takes around one to two hours, depending on how slowly you explore the displays and photo-friendly corners.
Current online booking prices list entry at SAR18, approximately £3.50, for children aged 5 to 15, and SAR28, approximately £5.50, for visitors aged 16 and above. Group and couple packages may also be available through booking platforms. These are approximate pound conversions based on a SAR to GBP rate of around 1 SAR = £0.195 on 7 May 2026.
